Something very exciting is happening on Prospect Avenue. A fascinating new concept, unique to this area is taking shape on the site of the old Cooper School of Art and a closed Cadillac dealership. The Trilogy Complex, an entertainment complex that will appeal to the gay and avante garde straights of the Greater Cleveland and tri-state areas has been founded and backed by the Ward Corporation. The corporation includes both gays and straights working together to bring a visionary concept of entertainment and relaxation to their patrons. The Complex will strive to appeal to a wide range of clientele; gays, straight, bisexual, male and female.

John Allen and Chester Davis are the two people primarily responsible for the design and production of this project. "We have worked very closely with the Prospect Avenue Civic Association and the City Council in trying to refurbish and bring new life to this section of downtown," said Mr. Allen. "What we're doing here is something totally new, something never seen before in the United States."

"What we are trying to do is to create a multifantasy environment that will appeal to different states of consciousness," interjects Mr. Davis. When asked why Cleveland was chosen for the site of this spectacular entertainment

complex, Mr. Davis replied, "Cleveland is hungry for this kind of thing high energy, high technology entertainment."

The Complex itself will house four theme lounges, a 200-car indoor parking lot and have outside secured parking for approximately 800 to 1000 cars. Specially designed lighting and sound systems will be showcased in each of the theme areas. Also planned are outdoor patios, a restaurant, a boutique, a coffee bar, a health spa with exercise equipment. Also planned in the spa area is a pool, a juice bar, a waterfall and a special VIP lounge area. The first section of the complex is now complete with the opening of CHAPS, a gay male western bar. "All in all, we expect the entire restoration to cost 5 million dollars not counting the building. We're investing very heavily here in the Cleveland area," said Davis. Sharing the first floor area with CHAPS, patrons will enter a lounge area done in Computer Tech style. This will be the main entrance to the Trilogy Night Club. Through this lounge which is reminiscent of 2001: A Space Odyssey and Star Wars will be the main dance floor and stage area highlighted by natural cherry paneling and raised ceiling for the special light and sound effects.
